| RAGE DEFEAT DIVISION RIVAL- SOLDIERS | ||||
|
Winter Garden, FL. February 11, 2012 The NFC Central Orlando Rage and Tri County Soldiers met in Week Four of the 2012 FFA season. Each were seeking to establish an early foothold on the division by going 2 and 0 in the division. When the smoke cleared it was the Rage who turned out on top; 35 to 27. "Going into the game we knew that defensively we would need to stop [Antwon] Young." Said Rage defensive coordinator David Dye. Young, the Soldiers' quarterback, came into the game averaging about 200 yards per game rushing. "We can only hope to limit his big plays." Concluded Dye, acknowledging the running skills of Young. And the Rage didn't have to wait long to see Young's talent. With the game still scoreless in the first quarter, QB Young broke loose and scored on a 44 yard run scoring the first of three for the night. The Rage, however, have their own weapons on offense. One of whom is RB Levi "Duke" Raines (currently the league leader in scoring and rushing yards) and another in QB Kyle Israel (pass efficiency rating of 122). Responding to the Soldiers' score, Israel hit WR Jeremiah Chatman on a 22 yard touchdown pass tying the score at 7. The teams then traded touchdowns for the remainder of the first half; the Soldiers on a swing pass from Young to WR Travis Hunter and the Rage on another pass from Israel to Chatman, leaving the score 14 to 14 at the half. In the second half the Soldiers mounted two more touchdown drives each ending in short touchdown runs by Young. Going up 27 to 21 the Soldiers set up for the PAT. Rage DB Rahmel King broke through the line to block the extra point. In the fourth quarter Israel connected with WR Nakeem Pittman on a 38 yard pass and K Michael Whitman added the PAT putting the Rage in the lead for the first time in the game. Rage 28, Soldiers 27, with just over four minutes left in the game. Feeding off of the new-found momentum the Rage "Goon Squad" defense then forced a Soldiers fumble. Levi Raines then capped the scoring on a 48 yard run to paydirt. Final score: Rage 35, Soldiers 27. Next week the Rage travel to West Palm Beach to play the NFC Central Makos before a mid-season bye on February 25. |

| "DEJA VUE ALL OVER AGAIN" BULLS @ RAGE | ||||
|
Winter Garden, FL. January 28, 2012 1950's Major League Baseball star and "quipster", Yogi Berra, once said "It's like Deja Vue all over again." Little did the Hall of Famer know how prophetic he was. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, the Orlando Rage and the Miami "Magic City" Bulls squared off against each other. In each of the matches the Bulls took early leads of 17 or more points and in each of the matches the Rage roared back-winning in overtime 40 to 34 (2010), and losing 56 to 50 (2011) with the ball as time expired. 2012, "It's like Deja Vue all over again." The Bulls traveled to Orlando Saturday night and took early command of the game posting a 20 to 3 halftime lead. The Rage, who seem to be accustomed to falling deep into holes against the Bulls, came out from halftime recharged and drove the length of the field. Rage RB Levi Raines, Jr., capped the drive on a 10 yard touchdown run. On the next series Rage DB Tylar Heintz picked off a Bulls pass which ultimately led to a 37 yard field goal by Rage PK Michael Whitfield. Late in the third quarter the Rage "Goon Squad" defense came up big again on another interception this time by DB Dale Boston. Raines found paydirt again on a spectacular 42 yard touchdown pass from QB Kyle Israel, tying the score at 20. The teams traded punches for much of the fourth quarter until Israel was able to score on a short run from under center. Finally, with 2:43 left in regulation, RB Rashad Cummings crossed the goalline making the score 34 to 20. Final score Rage 34, Bulls 20. Commenting after the the game Rage head coach Ron Scarlata said "Our special teams played at a very high level-kick off coverage was a big standout as was field goal and kick return". "That was a great team we beat tonight" Scarlata concluded "This game showed why we [Rage and Bulls] are the past TWO championship teams". |

| RAGE SLAY SPARTANS IN SEASON OPENER | ||||
|
Miami, FL. January 21, 2012 The Orlando Rage opened the 2012 regular season by traveling to Miami to take on the enigmatic Miami Spartans. In past years the Spart's have knocked off giants like the Miami Magic City Bulls, yet lost to seemingly inferior opponents. "Opening any season in the FFA is interesting; you never know how you'll match up or just how good the opponent is." Said Rage first-year head coach Ron Scarlata. Even more interesting, "prognosticators" have suggested that the Rage's winning days are over. The Rage defense set the tone early on the Spart's first drive holding them to a "3 and out". The Rage offense didn't waste any time either. On the first play from scrimmage Rage RB Levi Raines scampered 78 yards for the score. The Rage continued to roll up points on three more scores in the first half on touchdown passes by QB Kyle Israel to WRs Jeremiah Chatman and Nakeem Pittman. Rage 21, Spartans 6 at halftime. The Rage continued to amass points on offense while the "Goon Squad" defense remained stingy for the second half. Additional scores by RB Raishard Slater, a 37 yard field goal by PK Michael Whitfield, another completion from Israel to Pittman and an exciting "pick six" by Rage DB Rahmel King completed the scoring. Rage 45, Spartans 12: Final. |

Winter Park, FL. January 7, 2012 The Orlando Rage held their annual Charity/Benefit Game on Saturday, January 7, 2012. The cross-town Central Florida Scorpions of the United Football Federation participated this year. When the final whistle blew......it was the CHILDREN who won! Each year the Rage schedule a presesaon game to generate interest and money for deserving local charities. This year the beneficiaries were children from the central Florida area. Caden Epps, four year old son of former Rage player, Chad Epps was one of the children who was the subject of the game. Caden, suffered life-altering injuries in March, 2010, when he was struck by a car and left clinging to life and with significant paralysis to his extremities. Also reaping benefits was the Orange County Public School's "MVP" Program. The MVP, or "McKinney-Vento Program" is part of the "no child left behind" legislation and operates to assist homeless, public school children find accommodations and stability. Currently, there is an estimated 4,000 homeless school-aged children in Orange County. "We have always donated time and money to charities." commented Rage VP, Randy Horn about the Rage. "And giving to the children is our emphasis in '12; Especially in light of the current economy." Proceeds from the event will to to Caden's continued recovery and to the Orange County Public School's MVP Program. GAME SUMMARY The Rage scored first when RB Levi "Duke" Raines scampered in for a six yard run. Next the Rage managed another score when QB Kyle Israel hit RB Raishard Slater on a swing pass from the Scorpions' 17 yard line. The Scorp's got on the board with a long field goal and a short run. Israel then hit WR Jeremiah Chatman for a 27 yard touchdown and DB/KR Rahmel King returned a punt 67 yards for the score. Rage 27, Scorpions 9 at the half. The second half proved to be an opportunity for some of the Rage's rookies to shine as the fans were treated to some big plays by Rage rookie RBs Sheldon Lovelace, William Maldonado and Lorenzo Wilson. Wilson pounded in one of the three touchdowns of the second half. "We dressed out about 80 players today." Said Rage first year head coach, Ron Scarlata. "And every player got playing time today." He concluded. All tolled the Rage amassed almost six hundred yards in total offense evenly balanced between rushing and passing. Eight different players carried the ball and at least eight receivers had receptions as the quarterbacks accounted for 22 completions on 29 attempts for 298 yards.

| RAGE GIVE NEW STAFF "BEAR HUG" | ||||
|
In efforts to augment the Rage coaching staff during the off season, the Orlando Rage looked to the staff of their former division opponent, Brevard Grizzlies. In the Grizzlies the Rage found former head coach, David Dye and former defensive coach Melvin Byrd. "I saw that the Grizzlies weren't returning for the 2012 season and jumped at the opportunity of bringing David [Dye] and members of his staff on board." commented Rage owner, Christopher Morrison. "Last season I had the opportunity to observe how coach Dye ran his team and thought he'd be a great asset to ours" Morrison concluded. Coach David Dye brings years of coaching experience on both offense and defense to the Rage staff as well as real collegiate and professional playing experience. Along with Dye came his "right hand men", coaches Melvin Byrd and Guy Schnaars and their wealth of experience; coach Byrd will lead the defensive line and coach Schnaars will run the Defensive Backs. The Brevard and Central Florida pairing is a natural given that part of the Rage's origins are the former "Space Coast Panthers" who merged with the Orlando Starz in '03 to form the Rage. "For years we've had players commute from Brevard county to play with us" Morrison went on. "It's good to have more representation on the coast." Home game in Brevard county in 2012? We'll see! |

| RAGE HIRE NEW HEAD COACH | ||||
|
The Orlando Rage officially announced last week that former Rage Offensive Coordinator, Ron Scarlata, has been named Head Coach for the upcoming season. "I'm honored and excited at the opportunity to take over the Rage and I hope I can somehow keep up the winning tradition of the Rage." Commented Scarlata. Coach Scarlata takes over from Leonard Opheim who stepped down this summer. During Opheim's four year tenure as head coach the Rage amassed a 49 and 8 record, three consecutive League championships and four National championships. Opheim will remain on staff with the Rage for consulting and to assist players with other opportunities in the Pros or college. Scarlata, who will remain offensive coordinator, came on board with the Rage in 2008 and was a significant part of the success over the years. Replacing Opheim as Defensive Coordinator is Ike Wilson, formerly the defensive backs coach. Wilson brings his dynamic schemes to the Rage "Goon Squad" Defense. |

|
At halftime of the April 23, Rage/Bobcats match up the Orlando Rage awarded the "Joel Crane Award" to Offensive Lineman and Rage stand out player, Dwight Gifford. Each year the Rage honor former player, Joel Crane's memory and legacy by giving out the award. The award is given to the player who most personifies Joel's character in dedication to his Faith, Family and Football. Dwight came to the Rage when his family relocated from the gulf coast area to central Florida. Dwight played on many top notch teams including the St. Petersburg Sharks and Bradenton Gladiators before ending up in Orlando. "Dwight immediately stood out as a leader by his actions, not his words." said his position coach, Rick Leita. "He comes to practice early and leaves late-he's always ready to go." Recently Dwight stepped up again in handling duties at center when the starter suffered an injury. What's more is that Dwight often leads the team in prayer before and after each practice and game and he even sang the National Anthem at a Rage home game. It's these qualities and MORE that makes Dwight Gifford the 2011 "Joel Crane Award" recipient.

| RAGE COME UP SHORT IN "SHOOT OUT" | ||||
|
Daytona Beach, Fl. April 30, 2011 The Orlando Rage and the Miami "Magic City" Bulls squared off Saturday in a rematch of the 2010 Alliance Bowl. And, as expected, the fans got their money's worth. The Bulls dominated the first half going into halftime with a 28 to 17 lead. Early into the third quarter the Bulls added to the lead with an interception return for the touchdown. Bulls 35, Rage 17. With the lead and the apparent momentum, the Bulls seemed in control of the game, but the Rage had other thoughts. In the 2010 match up the Rage were behind by 18 points and worked their way back to the win. This thought was on the mind of the Rage staff and veteran players. The Rage roared back to bring the score to 56 to 50 only to have time expire on their final drive. All tolled, the match up was a meeting of two of the best franchises in the nation. The Rage, as well as the rest of the FFA, will enjoy some time off before gearing up for the 2012 season. |

|
Winter Park, Fl. April 23, 2011 After lackluster performances in the Divisional Round of the play offs by both the Orlando Rage and the Treasure Coast Bobcats each of the franchises came out to play Saturday night. When the smoke cleared it was the Rage who won the shoot out, 45 to 34 in a game that was actually closer than the final score reveals. The 2009 FFA Champion Bobcats drew first blood on a 60 plus yard fumble recovery for the score. The Rage then took the ensuing kick off and drove the distance of the field only to settle for a PK Michael Whitfield field goal. Bobcats 7, Rage 3. For the remainder of the first half the teams exchanged leads and went into halftime Rage 31, Bobcats 21. The Rage then seemingly gained the upper hand scoring first in the third quarter stretching their lead to 17 points (38 to 21), but the 'Cats struck twice with the benefit of a successful onside kick, but missed the final PAT; 38 to 34. The Rage running back trio consisting of Raishard Slater, Rashad Cummings and Jermaine Boston then ground up yards and time on the clock. With just over one minute in regulation QB Kyle Israel ran in a short touchdown. Rage 45, Bobcats 34. The win by the Rage pits them against the Miami "Magic City" Bulls in a rematch of 2010. |

Winter Garden, FL. March 19, 2011 The Orlando Rage (8-0) defeated the Brevard Grizzlies (2-6) 69 to 0 on Saturday night advancing their unbeaten streak on the season to eight and 28 over the past three seasons. The Rage offense and defense showed that they are in season form and ready for the play offs with the Rage defense scoring three of the ten touchdowns on the night and five TD passes by QB Kyle Israel and one by QB Peejay Jack. Even special teams had a big role with PK Michael Whitfield hitting 9 of 9 PAT's. The Rage will travel to Sebastian, Florida to take on the Space Coast Predators on March 26, before coming home on April 2, for the home finale against venerable head football coach, Joe Davis' Duval Panthers. |

Winter Garder, FL. March 12, 2011 The Orlando Rage (7-0) chalked up yet another victory and clinched the NFC Central Division title with a win over Division Rival Treasure Coast Bobcats (5-2) by the score of 37 to 21. The win marked the fifth consecutive over the 2009 FFA Champion Bobcats who the Rage will likely see again in the post-season. The game featured what has come to be the classic 'Cats v Rage match up with explosive plays by both offenses. The Rage scored on long touchdown passes from QB Kyle Israel to WR's Preston McGann, Jarrel Kelley and Jeremiah Chatman; and the 'Cats on QB Lasaun Davis to WRs Jeff Allen and Matt Smith. "The difference as I see it was the offensive line play. The Bobcats can strike any time on the long ball, but have trouble sustaining a long drive." Commented Rage Offensive Coordinator, Ron Scarlata. "Our O Line was able to pass protect and open up holes for the running backs giving us a balanced attack. It's the 'Big Guys' that always make the difference against a quality team like the 'Cats." Scarlata concluded. The Rage scoring included four touchdown passes by Israel, a run by RB Jermaine Boston and a 42 yard field goal by PK Michael Whitfield. The Rage are home again this Saturday playing host to the Brevard Grizzlies. |

|
Orlando, Florida March 2, 2011 No sooner than three former Rage "All Stars" made their debut in Arena Football (See Former Rage Stars Make Mark In Arena Football story) current Rage Quarterback and SSFL Hall of Famer, PeeJay Jack got called up to the Professional level. On Sunday after the Rage defeated the Jacksonville Knights, Orlando Predators' head coach, Pat O'Hara needed another quality quarterback to complete his roster. He didn't need to go far to find one in Jack. The next morning Jack found himself in camp with the Pred's in preparation for the 2011 season which kicks off this month. What's more is that the Pred's had to prepare for a game (albeit, pre-season) against their arch-rival Tampa Bay Storm in three days. Jack was ready for the task, signed with the Pred's on Wednesday and found himself in Tampa for the 63 to 30 thumping of the Storm Thursday night. |

Port Huron, Michigan February 26, 2011 On the very same day that the Orlando Rage defeated the Jacksonville Knights three former Rage stand outs donned new uniforms; the Black and Gold of the Port Huron Predators. Levi Raines, his cousin Andre Raines and Roger Sippio left the Rage and reported to camp with the Predators in December and played their first game last weekend. And the former Rage players showed the fans in Michigan just how it's done in the FFA. In a 69 to 12 rout of the Indianapolis Enforcers, Levi Raines ran in two touchdown and caught another (and sat the entire fourth quarter), Andre Raines-playing double duty at WR and DB-scooped up a fumble for a score and Sippio accounted for numerous tackles. Jacksonville, FL. February 26, 2011 Week Six of the FFA had the Orlando Rage (6-0) traveling to Jacksonville to take on the Jacksonville Knights (4-0) in a match up of the 2010 NFC Conference Championship. In 2010 the Rage defeated the Knights 27 to 6 to gain a berth in the Alliance Bowl-League Championship. This year they paired up in a regular season contest. As an interesting note, the Rage had to scramble at the last minute on special teams when K Michael Whitfield came down ill. As a result P Ryan Hartsfield saw duties as PAT/Field Goal kicker and "Mr. Everything" Jarrel Kelley stepped up for kick off duties. Despite the Special Teams mix up, the Rage came away with a 31 to 9 victory and probably home field advantage for the Play Offs. The Knights drew first blood on a 32 yard field goal by K Austin Cannon, but the Rage roared back and scored on 27 yard pass from QB Kyle Israel to WR Jarrel Kelley. The Rage then added four more touchdowns with two runs by RB Rashad Cummings and receptions by Kelley and WR Preston McGann. The Knights then added a late touchdown to make the final score Rage 31, Knights 9. The Rage will enjoy a much-deserved BYE week before hosting the Division Rival Treasure Coast Bobcats on March 12. |

Port St. Lucie, FL. January 29, 2011 In what was dubbed a Rivalry Game by many, the Orlando Rage commenced Divisional play Saturday night against the Treasure Coast Bobcats in the 'Cats new facility; South County Regional Stadium. The Rage, however, were in no mood to let the 'Cats mark their new facility with a home victory. The Rage "Goon Squad" defense played tough in slowing down the 'Cats' high scoring offense while the Rage offense moved the ball well. Rage QB, Kyle Israel connected three times for scores with WR Preston McGann and ran in another score. RB Raishard Slater accounted for the final touchdown. Rage 33, Bobcats 22. The Rage offense amassed over 500 yards total offense for the second-consecutive week. In week one, QB PeeJay Jack led the Rage with over 200 yards in the air. This week it was Israel who accounted for almost 300 yards passing. "It's a dilemma that I'm willing to live with" commented Rage Offensive Coordinator Ron Scarlata of having two quarterbacks each of whom have passed for over 200 yards in the first two games. "Not to mention that [Jermaine] Boston, [Rashad] Cummings, and [Raishard] Slater have combined for over 600 yards rushing in the first two games" Scarlata concluded. The Rage will take their "air and ground show" on the road to face the Brevard Grizzlies this Saturday with a special kick off time of 3:30 pm at Satellite High School. |

Winter Garden, FL. January 22, 2011 The O Rage won their 2011 season opener by defeating the Jax Xmen by the score of 30 to 12 on Saturday. In doing so the Rage have continued their 20+ game winning streak despite 6 turnovers. The Rage was able to continue the streak and, more importantly, get an opening weekend victory in part because of stellar defensive "Goon Squad" play. In addition QB PeeJay Jack tossed two long touchdown passes; one to WR Preston McGann as time expired in the first half and another to WR Jeremiah Chatman, and ran one in. Also accounting for for scores were K Michael Whitfield (37 yd FG) and RB Jermaine Boston. The Rage travel to the east coast this Saturday to take on the division-rival the Treasure Coast Bobcats. Last season the Rage faced off against the 'Cats twice in the regular season defeating the 'Cats twice in two close games. |

DeLand, FL. January 16, 2011 The Orlando Rage played host to the Burlington (Wi) Blue Devils Sunday in the National Football Events (NFE) National Bowl Weekend (NBW) with each team vying for the coveted "Winter/Spring National Championship". The Rage are no strangers to the NBW having been invited for four consecutive years. In 2008 the Rage were man-handled by the Georgia Xtrems, but bounced back to win National Championships in 2009 and 2010 by defeating the Xtreme and Columbus Fire to garner two consecutive National Championships. Looking for the "Three-peat" of national championships and coming off their "Three-peat" League Championship the Rage came out ready to play. Although starting slowly with the score 7 to 6 at the end of the first quarter, the Rage quickly got to mid-season form in the second quarter scoring 30 unanswered points in the second making the score 37 to 6 at the half. The Rage continued their dominance in the second half and managed to liberally substitute back up players. Rookie WR Nakeem Pitman and newly-acquired WR/KR Jarrel Kelley each scored two touchdowns, RB Raishard Slater and WR Preston McGann each scored once, DB Dale Boston scored on a long punt return and K Josh Smith hit a 37 yard field goal making the final score 51 to 13.

January 4, 2011 The Orlando Rage are set to kick off their 2011 football season in the coming days-defending their Number One National Ranking, their two-consecutive National Championships and seeking a "Four-Peat"; four consecutive League championships But even more important than "wins" and "losses" is the future of young Caden Epps. Caden, the three year old son of former Rage Tight End, Chad Epps, suffered life-altering injuries in March, 2010, when he was struck by a car and left clinging to life and with significant paralysis to his extremities. Caden, or "The C-Man" to the Rage players, has undergone a miraculous recovery since his injuries, but still has a long road ahead of him. "Caden came out to the [KEL Attorneys sponsored] charity game and loved every second of it. He got to hang out in the locker room and on the sideline with the players and was the center of attention" said the elder Epps of the "Caden Epps Charity Fundraiser Game which took place on December 18th. "He had a blast" Epps concluded. Ironically, just as the Rage are set to defend their three consecutive League Championships Caden had his third birthday. "Call it serendipity..." jested Rage president, Christopher H. Morrison, "...that we won our first League Championship the year that Caden was born and we're looking to defend our third as Caden turns three. I guess the 'C-Man' is good luck to the Rage." "It just makes sense that we dedicate this season to Caden." Morrison concluded. Look for the 2011 "Four-Peat" Rage to kick off on Sunday, January 16th (MLK, Jr Weekend) in National Football Events Bowl Weekend in DeLand before the FFA Season commences on January 22, 2011.

RAGE REPEL REBELS IN CHARITY FUNDRAISER EVENT (Sponsored By KEL Attorneys) |
||||
|
Winter Park, FL. December 19, 2010 The East Georgia Rebels of Newington, Georgia came to town Saturday night to participate in a Charity Fundraising game against the Orlando Rage. The game, to generate monies for three year old Caden Epps, was sponsored by KEL Attorneys. Troubles for the Reb's began at the Florida-Georgia line-and did not end until the final whistle. Traveling from Newington, Georgia (just outside of Savannah) the Rebels' team bus got caught in bumper-to-bumper traffic just outside of Jacksonville delaying their arrival for over two hours. Despite the charitable event the Rage weren't feeling very charitable as they put up 50 points on the Reb's while giving up none. But it was all for a good cause as proceeds from the game will be donated to the Epps family. Caden was injured in March, 2010, when he was struck by a car leaving him without the use of his arms and legs. "We're still doing the math on donations" commented Rage Vice President, Randy Horn about the total proceeds to be committed to Caden's recovery. In further showing of charity, senior partner of KEL Attorneys, Jeff Kaufman, upon learning of Caden's need for a specific therapeutic device opened his wallet again and matched his employees' donations to purchase the $1,880 device. The Rebels dipped deep into their pockets too as their waterboys hand-delivered a jar filled to the brim with donations from their community.

FULL-CONTACT PRACTICE A "BRUISING" SUCCESS Winter Park, Fl. November 10, 2010 On Tuesday, November 9, 2010, the Orlando Rage donned their full gear and went head-to-head for the first time in preparation for the 2011 season. They were originally scheduled to "go live" the week before, but weather closed the Rage practice facility. The delay caused the already eager Rookies and Veterans alike to bring out their best as well over 80 rostered players squared off for coveted starting positions. "We planned on doing more one-on-one, blocking and tackling drills" offered Rage Offensive coordinator, Ron Scarlatta, "but we have so much experienced talent that we skipped some of the basics and went straight into a full 11 on 11 scrimmage." "Naturally there were some 'first live action' mistakes, but these guys looked as though they had been in pads for weeks" Added Rage Head Coach Leonard Opheim. Look for the 2011 Rage to continue practice in preparation for the December 4th "Black & Blue" intrasquad scrimmage and preparing for the 2011 season hoping to garner four onsecutive League Championships. |

"DEJA VOUS" Rage "Team Up" with CFYFL for ANNUAL "BLACK & BLUE" Scrimmage Winter Park, Florida November 9, 2010 Just like in 2009, the Orlando Rage has teamed up with the Central Florida Youth Football League (CFYFL) to hold a "Double Header" on Saturday, December 4, 2010. The Rage's annual intra-squad scrimmage, the "Black & Blue" game will be kicking off at 4:00 pm, again at Tom Storey Field on the campus of Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs. In 2009 the Rage held their scrimmage just before the CFYFL's event; this year the scrimmage will take place immediately AFTER the All Star game. The "Youth East/West All Star" game pits All Stars from Central Florida against an All Star Team from Sacramento, California. The "East meets West" game will kick off at noon. The Orlando Rage players and staff will be on hand volunteering their manpower for the event. The Rage "Black & Blue" game, consisting of a live, game-situation scrimmage, is the annual final tune up for Rage vets and Rookies before kicking off the upcoming season. "Some starting spots will be earned; some will be lost" stated Rage head coach, Leonard Opheim. "But, as we do every year, we will be able to identify our strengths and our weaknesses", Opheim went on. Come on out and get a sneak preview of the 2011 Rage and cheer on the Youth All Stars on December 4. |

| RAGE UNVEIL (UNKNOWINGLY) CLIPS FROM REALITY / DOCUMENTARY TELEVISION SHOW | ||||
|
Winter Park, Fl. October 1, 2010 The Orlando Rage have unintentionally unveiled the beginnings of the much-anticipated Reality-Documentary television program. Some of the rough clips were posted by Director of Productions of "Webcast-TV", Fred Shahade on the Webcast-TV website of www.WebCast-TV.com. "I posted some short production clips on the webpage for Rage management and several interested purchasers to view just to give them a flavor of the upcoming production." commented Shahade of the initial work. "It really wasn't intended for public consumption as they [the clips] were just some initial impressions." Shahade went on. Rage president, Christopher Morrison offered "I came upon a Facebook posting of one of my players including the link; I guess he did some websurfing and now the cat's out of the bag." The initial work includes some footage from initial try outs and features a handful of Rage veterans and "Rookies" as well as the beginnings of what promise to be some interesting storylines which include vying for starting positions and which players are going to be picked up by the pros. "Funny," Morrison added, "Literally during the shooting a professional coach called Randy [Horn, Rage Director of Player Personnel] and said he wanted to sign one of our players to a professional contract-that's REALITY for you!" Feel free to check out the Rage clips on Webcast-TV. |

| RAGE SIGN "TONS" OF PLAYERS | ||||
|
Winter Park, Fl. October 5, 2010 On Tuesday, October 5, 2010, the Orlando Rage wrapped up their Open Try Outs and kicked off their "Mini Camp". Mini Camp is the short training period prior to going live when the Rage staff get an opportunity to work on the players' skills. It's also the time-frame when players sign their contracts for the upcoming season. "At this level of football the big guys-offensive linemen-are the toughest guys to find." Commented Rage Offensive Line Coach, Rick Leita. "But in camp this year we had tons of them show." Leita concluded. And "TONS" is the operative word. The Rage re-signed returning Offensive Linemen, Ty Abney, Justin Wright, Brandon Alexander, Tom Gallagher, Scott Gearhardt, and Doug Anderwkavich on Tuesday night as well as some newcomers including former Bradenton Gladiator, Dwight Gifford, Philip Hofferberth (Crusaders), Matt Virgilio and 6'6", 380 pounder, Lee Simpson. The Rage will also be re-signing returners Kyle Nash, Allen Rice, Destin Aubrin as well as other "rookies". "With an average weight of over 300 pounds, I think we signed up a couple tons of offensive linemen." Jested Rage President, Christopher Morrison. "And with returning running backs like [Levi] Raines, [Jermaine] Boston and [Rashard] Slater and new guys including former Buffalo Bills Rashad Cummings it looks like 'Ground Rage' will be alive and well in 2011." Concluded Morrison. Look for more signings in the next few days and weeks as the Rage prepare for live drills on November 2. |

2011 Rage: New and Old
Faces Winter Park, Fl. September 21, 2010 Midway through the 2010 Open Try Outs and "Mini Camp" the face of the 2011 Orlando Rage is beginning to emerge. Returning are most of the "old veterans" of the Rage "Three-Peat" Seasons including DTs, John Porter and Eddie Key, OL Ty Abney and Justin Wright as well as a cross-section of other wily old vets. Also returning are Rage second year players including FFA All-Star Kyle Israel, OL T.J. Gallagher and DE Tyler Ott. "With just the returners from the 2010 season we already have a strong squad, but adding the new and old talent promises to make the 2011 roster packed with players-many rookies who can immediately contribute." said Rage 4th year head coach, Leonard Opheim. Three former Rage All-Stars have returned as well. 2005 All-Star, Louis "Smooth" Briggins has returned to the Rage testing his wares at QB. Rage historians remember Smooth as, not only the son of former Rage Defensive Coordinator, Louis Briggins (Sr), but as a thrilling kick and punt returner (still the Rage record-holder returning two punts and one kick off for touchdowns in one game in 2005 vs. Thunderbolts) but also as a DB and WR. Also returning from the professional ranks are QB PeeJay Jack and WR Preston McGann. Who can forget the Jack/McGann performances in the 2008 and 2009 Rice Bowl Championships? PeeJay traveled to Europe in 2010 to showcase his talents to French football fans playing a season for the Elancort Templiers of the French Football League. Preston, after his stint with the Dallas Cowboys on Spike TV's "Fourth & Long" and a season with the Columbus Lions arena football team, returns as well. As to "new" faces, the 2010 Try Outs have revealed additional former Crusaders, Dominic Lightfoot and Phillip Hofferbirth, former Tigers, Alvis Galbreth and Wes Westmoreland as well as many other former Semi Pro, college and professional players. Maybe the most interesting face to appear at try outs wasn't a "new face" at all, rather former Rage ballboy (and nephew of Rage players, T J and Jeremiah Chatman), Tyrone "Bones" Standifer. "Bones" has been a fixture on the Rage sidelines for years and, upon becoming 18, he decided to take it to the next level. Given the mixture of new and returning players 2011 promises to be a good year as the Rage try to "Go Four in a Row". |

| September 11 Open Try Outs Garner 50+ Future Rage All-Stars | ||||
|
Winter Park, Fl. September 11, 2010 Braving the stifling summer heat fifty or so Semi Professional Football "wannabes" attended the Orlando Rage's annual "Open Try Outs". The Rage, coming off their third consecutive League Championship and ranked number one in the nation as America's best Semi Pro/Minor League Football team, held their annual search for talent at Showalter Field East in Winter Park. The attendees included former High School and college stand outs mixed in with some players with NFL credentials. "Coming off three consecutive League championships we already have a solid squad, but each year we look to build upon the twenty or so seasoned Rage vets." Commented Rage third year head coach Leonard Opheim. "And by the looks of things; we're doing just that." Opheim went on, referring to the turn out. Offensive Line coach, Rick Leita added "This year we had a tremendous turn out by the big guys" referring to the 12 perspective Offensive Linemen who attended. "It seems that the O Line is the most difficult position to recruit but they were coming out of the woodwork." Leita went on. The Rage will be holding three more try outs; September 18, 21 and 28 before heading to Mini Camp in October. |

| Rage 2011 "Try Out" Gear has arrived! | ||||
|
The 2011 Orlando Rage Try Out Gear & Practice Uniforms have arrived. Through a special arrangement the 2011 Official Uniform Outfitter, EVOLUTION SPORTS, has just delivered the Try Out T Shirts and the practice jerseys. The Try Out T's are produced by "A-4" incorporating the patented "Tek Moisture Management" fabric and system. Evolution Sports designed the logo incorporating the now-famous "Goon Squad" moniker for the Defensive T's and "Playmakers" for the Offense. Each participant in the upcoming try outs will receive a Try Out T Shirt while the supply lasts. "We ordered over 200 of the try out T Shirts for this season, but I'm concerned that that might not be enough." Commented Rage owner, Christopher H. Morrison. "During the off-season we have gotten a lot of 'buzz' about new and returning players for 2011. Three consecutive League championships, two Commissioner's Cup Awards, television publicity and national rankings seem to draw more and better players to camp." Evolution also supplied the 2011 Practice Jerseys. This year, rather than the cheap, mesh practice jerseys the Rage went with Rival Sportswear's game jerseys for a cleaner look and more durability. Rage Director of Player Personnel, Randy Horn suggested "Each season we provide all of the players with practice uniforms and by the time we reach the play offs the jerseys are pretty torn up. Going to a higher quality 'game' jersey will increase durability." Look for the new Rage Gear coming up in try outs and in preparing for the 2011 season.

Rage Enter Negotiations for Television Reality/Documentary Program Rage Management is in the final process of ironing out terms to place the Orlando Rage and select players from the 2011 squad on a reality-based television program. "We're excited at the chance to feature our franchise on television yet again" commented Rage owner Christopher H. Morrison about the most recent development which will follow the Rage franchise (including select veteran players and yet to be discovered future Rage players) from initial try outs, training camp and the 2011 season. "This isn't like the ridiculous "canned" performances on the so-called "Reality Television" programs that feature actors or would-be actors trying to become celebrities, rather it will be more documentary-based; literally following players through their on-field and off-field lives." Morrison went on. "We'll show the television viewers what REALLY goes on-the good, bad and the ugly-in juggling Semi-Pro football with our normal lives". During the early weeks in August the producers will begin interviewing and shooting existing Rage players and staff in anticipation of September's try outs when the cameras will really begin rolling. Additional information will be posted as soon as the details are worked out. |

RAGE Players to Appear
in
Winter Park, Fl. July 6, 2010 Four Orlando Rage players from a group of 50 or so "players" called to a Rooms to Go casting have been chosen to appear in an upcoming television commercial. On Thursday, June 24th a casting director hired by "Rooms to Go" ran into a dilemma and ran out of time. The Director needed to find "Football Players", get them filmed, and ship the film off to California to fill the request to cast players for an upcoming television commercial. Previously the Director was having little or no luck finding "actors" to play the part of football players. Hence, the last minute telephone call to Rage owner, Christopher Morrison. "We're always getting interesting phone calls" commented Morrison of the call. "Whether it's a group wanting to use our [federally trademarked] 'Rage' name or logo, Reality television producers, or even national television networks asking to use our name and likeness, I get calls from time to time" Morrison went on. "This time they really needed football players and not actors portraying football players. And they needed them ASAP". Always up for the task, the Rage were able to muster many players to appear at the casting on the very next day, Friday, June 25, in full gear to perform football-like motions on film. The producers in California then chose Rage players, DeMonn Goehring, Dan Tourcotte, Preston McGann and Jermaine Sanders to fill the roles. "It was pretty cool, " said McGann of the actual shooting. "Like a video game-they hooked a bunch of sensors to us and a computer read our movements." The commercial won't actually feature the players, rather computer-generated forms of the players playing football. "It's just another example of how far we've come as an organization" added Rage Director of Player-Personnel, Randy Horn in referring to the soon to be aired commercial. "ESPN, Reality TV, TBS and Fox Sports have all come to the Rage when they needed a strong organization for their products." Look for your Rage players on the upcoming Rooms-to-Go commercial. |

Rage Defeat Bulls 40 to 34 in Overtime
*Win third consecutive League Championship* |
||||
|
Jacksonville, Fl. May 1, 2010 The Florida Football Alliance (FFA) held its third annual "Alliance Bowl" on Saturday night at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida. The event featured two storied Minor League Football franchises-the Miami Magic City Bulls and the Orlando Rage. The Bulls came into the game having won three league championships as well as boasting the FFA's stingiest defense. The Bulls were also ranked Sixth Nationally by the Minor League BCS. The Rage were the reigning National Football Events Spring National Champions, back-to-back League Champions, the FFA's highest scoring offense and ranked number one in all three Minor League Football ranking organizations polls. Making the match up even more interesting the Rage went into the game starting 43 year old, back-up quarterback, Kenny King. Rage starting quarterback and FFA All Star, Kyle Israel, was ejected during the April 24 Conference Championship game and determined to be ineligible for the Alliance Bowl despite compelling evidence that the league officials misinterpreted the Rules. And the game surely held up to all of the pre-game hype and drama. The Rage took the lead early on a short touchdown run by RB Jermaine Boston. But the Bulls charged back scoring 17 points in the first half, the final seven on an interception of Rage QB Kenny King as time was running out in the first half. In the second half the Bulls continued to put up points scoring again on a QB Julio Martinez pass to WR Terrence Holland making the score 24 to 6 in the third quarter. That is when the Rage "Goon Squad" defense got tough and the offense started to click. Driving in the third quarter and down by 18 points, Rage Offensive Coordinator, Ron Scarlata, reached into deep into the playbook and called for (Alliance Bowl MVP and FFA Player of the Year) Levi Raines to pass the ball. On the other end of the pass was Rage WR Andre Raines scoring on the completed pass. The Rage then managed another touchdown and the Bulls connected on another field goal leaving the score 27 to 20 late in the fourth quarter. The Rage then drove the distance of the field capped off by a King to WR Donald Orelus touchdown pass tying the score at 27 each. On the ensuing possession of the Bulls the Rage Defense caused a turnover. The Rage then incorporated their version of the "Wildcat" offense featuring Levi Raines at quarterback. Several plays later the Rage scored taking the lead with less than two minutes left in regulation. But the Bulls were not willing to give up and scored as time expired. Rage 34, Bulls 34 at the end of regulation. The Rage won the overtime coin toss and elected to take the ball. And with the ball, the Rage continued the "Wildcat" (dubbed "Wild-Rage") offense. Levi Raines then showed the crowd why he was the League Player of the Year. Taking the ball Raines scampered down the filed, seemingly tackled no less than three times, as he scored the overtime touchdown. Rage 40, Bulls 34. |
